How do people find your blog?

The most common question I had today was about blog discovery. People are wondering how do people find your blog? There's many different ways, including:
  • search engines like Google
  • blog specific search engines like Technorati
  • ping services like Ping-O-Matic
  • by commenting on other blogs with a similar topic, leaving your URL
  • trying to get a post on social media tools like Digg, StumbleUpon or del.icio.us
  • and of course by telling your friends & family about your blog

Happy blogging!

Final Presentation

The last presentation of the day is on right now: Desktop TV with Louis St-Cyr. There's a good crowd of people gathered around watching.

I've seen a lot of activity this afternoon at the CBC Techknowledgy Exchange. I wasn't here this morning, but my colleagues said traffic was much lighter. Quite a good number of people have found their way here after lunch though.

Chai Tea

If you come up to the 10th floor, you must stop by and get a free Chai Tea from the internet cafe. It tastes amazing!

Mad props to Karen & Scott for the reco.

The Blogging Booth

This afternoon at the CBC Techknowledgy Exchanges is nice and busy. Lots of people are coming by asking questions about blogging. Keep 'em coming! I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. I'm glad to see so much interest in blogs.

Why not start your own free blog now?

Blogging about CBC

Some might say Technorati is a blogger's best friend. In a nutshell, it's a search engine for blogs. You can put any keyword in, and see what bloggers are saying about it.

For example, a Technorati search under the keyword "CBC" brings up 10,844 results.

Friendly Giant: 65 results.

Dragons' Den: 231 results. (129 if you use the apostrophy incorrectly.)

Stroumboulopoulos: 172

CBC Radio: 1,223

Hello, My Name is Hubert

Have you seen the CBC's official blog? It's called Inside the CBC and it's run by Tod Maffin.

Tod really has his finger on the pulse of this place.

Have you heard that CBC has a new president? Tod has ... and he's posted a video of Don Newman's interview with Hubert Lacroix.

  • Movabletype Vs Wordpress
